Melanie has joined our Family Law department at our Leamington office having previously worked elsewhere in Coventry as a family solicitor and has been practising in all areas of Family Law for over 8 years.

Melanie originally qualified as a barrister in 2010, before completing the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law (Birmingham) in 2014 and finishing her training contract in the same year. She is now also a member of Resolution.

Melanie has a passion for children cases, although handles all kind of family and cohabitation disputes, divorce and financial proceedings. One of Melanie’s cases was reported in the Law Reports having concluded in the Court of Appeal. (P (A Child) [2015] EWCA Civ 1428) This complex private law children matter involved international parties and Melanie successfully acted for the father. A court Order for no direct contact with mother in China was upheld by the Court of Appeal and the child was Ordered to live with father in the UK.

Melanie enjoys representing clients at Court and with her extensive advocacy training, is able to help families come to a resolution, without always resorting to lengthy court proceedings.

Outside of work Melanie enjoys running around after her young daughter and when possible, sewing and crafts.
