The claimant’s details have been changed but this is indeed a true case
Phil Mulryne acted on behalf of the Claimant to pursue a claim for personal injuries.
Child Injured By Exposed Wire While Playing At A Park
The Claimant was a school child who injured his right foot which was caught on a length of exposed wire/cable whilst playing on climbing apparatus at a local park.
When the claim was submitted to the Defendants, liability was admitted.
Nasty Wound That Left A Scar
The Claimant suffered a nasty wound which healed within a couple of weeks but left a permanent scar.
The Claimant had some anxiety for a few months or so when visiting playgrounds.
Proposals to settle the claim were put forward by the Defendant’s representatives at £2,000.00. This offer was put forward directly to the Claimant’s mother prior to Ward & Rider being instructed.
Offer Of £3,500 Accepted
The offer was rejected and an increased offer to the sum of £3,500.00 was negotiated.
Compensation Invested So It Can Be Paid To The Child When They Reach 18 years old
As the Claimant is under 18, approval of the settlement had to be given by the court so the matter proceeded to a hearing whereupon the settlement figure was endorsed by a Judge, and the compensation award invested in the court funds account to be released when the Claimant reaches the age of 18.
