Stuart joined Ward & Rider in July 2007 and now serves as a Director and Joint Head of the Family Law Department. Stuart’s legal career started early at the age of 16 when he began studying A-Level law. He later read law at the University of Leicester followed by the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Birmingham.

Stuart specialises in private family law matters including divorce, associated financial matters, children issues and cohabitation/property matters. Stuart enjoys court advocacy and regularly appears before the local County and Family Proceedings Courts to represent his clients. Stuart comments “I get enormous satisfaction from delivering a first class service to my clients and helping them through a difficult and stressful time in their lives. I adopt a professional yet relaxed and friendly style. I pride myself on being approachable and offering clear and sound advice.”

Stuart has a passion for helping people and in his spare time he undertakes work for two local charities, the Charterhouse Coventry Preservation Trust, and the Coventry Society which is the city’s civic society. In relation to the Charterhouse Trust, Stuart comments: “The Charterhouse Coventry Preservation Trust was formed in September 2011 with the objective of acquiring the Grade 1 listed former Carthusian Monastery off London Road, Coventry and to restore the building fabric and return the building and its grounds to public use. The building was transferred to the Trust in November 2012 and I am one of 5 directors/trustees now charged with the task of fulfilling these objectives. Through my work I hope to bring social, cultural and economic benefits to the people of Coventry and Warwickshire.”

Stuart is available to discuss any family law issues with you and will be happy to speak with you by telephone, email or in person depending on your preference and availability.
