Jodie Doran, Lawyer at Ward and Rider Solicitors acted for a client who was injured at work through no fault of their own.
Our client was employed to clean large vehicles and position them ready for the next working day. Our client worked shifts which meant they often found themselves working in the dark; either early in the morning or late at night.
On the day of the accident, our client was helping a colleague reverse a vehicle into a parking space and was shouting instruction. It was dark and unfortunately, the colleague drove into our client crushing them between two buses.
Our client’s employer did not provide our client with adequate lighting and our client was not offered and neither were they wearing a hi-visibility vest. The claim was put to our client’s employer and liability was accepted by them immediately.
Fortunately, our client sustained minor, although painful bruising and soft tissue injuries, which lasted for approximately 1 month. Jodie successfully negotiated settlement of our client’s claim in the sum of circa £1,650. This figure took into account our client’s injury as well as the assistance provided to them by their partner following the accident.
