No Win No Fee Claim After Slip in Department Store
Ray Hudson acted for Mrs K from Coventry on a no win no fee basis. The Claimant sustained a personal injury when she attended a department store in Coventry City Centre. Whilst she was in the shoe section looking for shoes on a rack she slipped over a shoe hanger, causing her to fall and sustain injury. The Claimant had a knee injury to her knee and was required to attend hospital following a referral from her doctor. Her symptoms were at their worst for around 2 to 3 months and the Claimant was left with a bony prominence.
We arranged on behalf of the Claimant for her to be medically examined so that a Report could be provided to establish the injuries that she had sustained. The view of the Medical Expert was that the Claimant was likely to continue to suffer discomfort on kneeling. She also incurred some minor expenses and required some initial help around the house.
To protect the Claimant against cost risks we obtained insurance cover. At no stage was liability accepted by the department store and therefore Court proceedings were issued. Shortly after this the Solicitors for the Defendant made an offer to settle the claim at £3,750. The Claimant accepted the offer made to her.
