Award of £70,000.00 After a Successful Road Traffic Acc...
Mr C, a Coventry based warehouse and factory worker, had his no win no fee claim handled by Personal Injury Lawyer Jason Claridge at Ward & Rider Solicitors. Mr C had been travelling in a vehicle with his friend. They were travelling along a busy A road in Coventry and were slowing as they intended to visit another friend. His friend who was driving the car was indicating.
The vehicle behind did not stop in time and collided with significant force with the back of the vehicle in which our client was travelling. Our client suffered a whiplash injury to his neck and back. He sought treatment from the hospital. His job was a physically demanding one and he had recently been made redundant.
There was some difficulty in establishing who the actual Defendant was. The car was a hire car. It was however from a garage. It ultimately turned out that it had been lent to an individual who was having his own vehicle repaired at the garage.
Our client's injuries were significant. He was unable to return to his previous occupation as it was too physically demanding for him as a result of the permanent symptoms he suffered as a consequence of these injuries. He was able to return to some work but the work he secured was lighter in nature and not as well paid. He also struggled at home to carry out the heavier domestic chores and required help from his friends and family.
We secured an admission of liability. Some rehabilitation was provided by the Insurance Company. Although this helped him he never made a full recovery from the physical injuries he suffered as a result of the road traffic accident that he was involved in. We made a personal injury claim on his behalf. We claimed for past and future help and assistance with the heavier household chores. We also submitted a claim for treatment and travel costs. Furthermore we advanced a claim for past and future partial loss of earnings because of the difference in his salary between what he would have been earning had he not been injured and what he was able to earn following his accident.
There were a number of offers made and ultimately the Claimant accepted compensation of £70,000.00 as a consequence of the injuries and financial losses he suffered as a result of this road traffic accident.
*Mr C's name has been changed to respect his privacy but this is indeed a true accident claim case.
