Award of £7,000 for Personal Injury Claim

Mr M worked for a Furniture Company as a Machinist.  His job involved operating an industrial saw which required him to walk around the back of the saw to push the boards into the saw.  To do this, he had to walk in between a pile of base boards and one of the sensors.  The sensor was 3 feet high and bolted on a plate to the ground.  One of the bolts was sticking out about 4-5 inches above the ground, which caused him to trip and sustain a twisting injury to his left foot.

Mr M came to Ward & Rider, Solicitors for personal injury advice and we handled his personal injury claim on a no win no fee basis.

As a result of Mr M's injuries, he was not able to work for a period of 7 weeks.

Mr M suffered a significant injury to his ankle and continued to suffer with residual symptoms and required extensive physiotherapy treatment.  He also developed some low back pain.

Ward & Rider were eventually able to secure an admission of liability from the Employer's Insurers and rehabilitation was provided by the Insurance Company.

Mr M went on to make a complete recovery from his injuries.

We were unable to negotiate a settlement for Mr M as the Insurance Company's offer was too low.  Therefore, Ward & Rider issued court proceedings against Mr M’s Employers.  The Employer's Solicitors increased their offer significantly.  Mr M recovered his loss of earnings, medication costs and travelling expenses.  He was also able to recover the care and assistance that was provided to him by his wife whilst he was incapacitated for a period of approximately 10 weeks after the accident.

Mr M ultimately recovered £7,700.00 as a consequence of his injuries and financial losses suffered as a result of his accident at work.
