Award of £15,000 for Whiplash Compensation Claim.

Mr E*, a Leamington businessman, had his personal injury handled under a no win no fee agreement by personal injury lawyer Jason Claridge at Ward & Rider Solicitors.  His vehicle was unfortunately hit from behind by another car.  He suffered injuries to his neck.

"I am pleased to report," says Jason Claridge, "that the insurers admitted liability fairly quickly.  However, as can sometimes happen, they refused to accept the level of symptoms that he suffered as a consequence of his injuries, and refused to agree the extent of his financial losses."

We therefore issued compensation claim proceedings.  Medical evidence had been obtained by us and the Defendants obtained their own medical evidence.  They surreptitiously took a DVD of the Claimant.  The DVD showed Mr E to be struggling to do anything of a physical nature due to his personal injury.  There was then an argument about how extensively he had been injured.  His main arguments were that he needed help from family members and friends with routine household chores as well as shopping, DIY and gardening.  He had previously suffered a back injury and the neck injury caused him further inconvenience.

"I am pleased to report that after a number of months of arguments and offers and counter offers, a settlement figure of £15,000 was reached.  The client was pleased with this figure for his compensation claim.  He had suffered a nasty injury.  It did cause him to suffer pain and suffering and stopped him from doing the things which ordinarily he would like to do.  He was a stoic individual who ran his own business and wanted to ensure that he kept working, which he duly did.  To his credit, he used his compensation to invest in a start-up business opportunity, which would help to employ people in his hometown." Says Jason Claridge, personal injury lawyer, who specialises in accident claim cases.
