Accident Claim Following a Tripping Accident on a Highw...
Arvinder Nagra, PersonaI Injury Lawyer at Ward & Rider Solicitors acted for Mrs L to obtain compensation for personal injury on a No Win No Fee basis following a tripping accident.
Mrs L was walking along a pavement when she stepped into a pothole in the pavement causing her to trip and fall.
As a consequence of the fall, Mrs L sustained injuries to her face and a closed intra-articular left wrist collis fracture.
Liability was strongly denied by the insurance company representing the Local Authority and as a consequence, formal Court proceedings were issued against the Local Authority with the matter proceeding to trial.
Fortunately for Mrs L, at the trial the Local Authority caved in and settled her compensation claim in full in the sum of £4,750. Mrs L also incurred some financial losses such as travelling expenses to various medical appointments as well as some minimal medication costs. Mrs L was therefore able to claim not only for her injuries but for the financial losses as mentioned above.
In summary, after a long battle the Local Authority conceded the case and paid Mrs L £4,750 in settlement of her personal injury claim and also paid her legal costs.
Mrs L’s name has been changed to respect her privacy but this is indeed a true case.
