£8,000 Compensation Following an Accident at Work
David Bull, Personal Injury Lawyer at Ward & Rider Solicitors Coventry acted for Mr B on a no win no fee basis.
The Claimant was employed as a contractor by a specialist communications company. On the day of the accident at work, the Claimant was working in a building installing new cable conduits. He was not given the proper equipment to enable him to carry out his job properly and was required to make do with that equipment available to him.
Unfortunately the equipment was not suitable for the purpose in hand and the Claimant fell suffering an injury to his leg, resulting in an accident claim.
Initial instructions were received by David Bull and investigations were entered into regarding liability. Liability was initially denied by the Defendant's insurers.
In support of the Claimant's compensation claim, witness evidence was obtained from colleagues to prove that the equipment used was indeed unsuitable for the task in hand.
After prolonged negotiations on the part of the Defendant's insurers, they eventually agreed to deal with the matter.
The Claimant's medical records were then obtained along with a medical report from an Orthopaedic Consultant. Investigations were made into the Claimant's claim for special damages and a Schedule detailing these costs and losses was prepared.
This, together with the medical evidence, was released to the Third Party Insurers. Prolonged negotiations then ensued and offers and counter-offers were put forward.
Eventually a compensation claims settlement was agreed at the sum of £8,000. The Defendant’s Insurers also paid Mr B’s legal fees.
