£20,000 for Accident at Work
Jason Claridge from Ward and Rider Solicitors, personal injury department, recently acted for Mrs P* who suffered an accident at work. She was working at a large nationwide shop. A box had been left in an area that she was required to work in. She was not aware of the fact that the box was there. She tripped over the box, suffering injury.
The insurers acting for the Defendant's store acknowledged and accepted liability fairly promptly. The Claimant saw a medical expert in relation to her injuries. Her principle injuries were to her knee and shoulder.
As a result of her injuries the Claimant was left with incapacity and needed help and assistance from her husband with household chores, shopping, DIY and gardening, which she did not need before the accident. She was to be left with some ongoing trouble for the rest of her life as a consequence of this accident.
There were a number of offers and counter offers made in respect of her claim. In total there were four offers before an agreement was reached of £20,000.00. It is important for an individual to look beyond the initial injuries and what the consequences hold for them. A substantial amount of the Claimant's compensation was awarded for the past and future help with household chores which were down solely to the injuries suffered in this accident.
The Claimant received 100% of her compensation. We acted on a no win no fee basis.
* Mrs P's name has been changed to respect her privacy but this is indeed a true accident injury case.
