The claimants details have been changed but this is indeed a true case

Annemarie Ellis-Percival acted for a client who had an accident whilst on a night out in a bar; unfortunately they slipped on a slippery floor caused by the spillage of several drinks.

The client sustained a bad sprain to their wrist.  They attended A&E where fortunately enough, x-rays showed there was no fracture.   However, our client was in extreme pain for several months, with ongoing symptoms lasting a number of years.

Initially, the insurers of the bar denied that they were at fault, stating that they had done all they could in keeping the floor clean. However, the client and the people they were in the bar with were adamant they had not seen anybody in the bar cleaning up spills. There was also a witness who was sure that the liquid had been there for several hours, and that it was only a matter of time before someone slipped.

Ward & Rider investigated the claim thoroughly and with the advice of a barrister, it was decided that the case should be taken to court. After this was done, our opponents eventually admitted that they were at fault and that the spillage should have been cleaned up a lot sooner.

Our client was awarded compensation in the sum of circa £3,700.
