£11,000 compensation claimed for client’s accident at work
Ray Hudson acted for Mr J from Warwickshire to claim for his personal injury and related losses arising out of an accident at work.

Mr. J sustained injury in the process of moving a cutter grinder with fellow employees at the request of his employer. In the process of undertaking this task Mr. J sustained a ruptured Achilles tendon. The employer quickly accepted liability.

Matters were complicated as on holiday Mr J sustained an injury to his Achilles tendon. It was important to obtain medical evidence and our client was seen by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. He spent 6 weeks in plaster following the first injury and was off work for 2 months. He required help from his wife. He still had discomfort when walking. Over a year after the accident his other Achilles tendon was injured and this was felt to be due to the existing problem with the same Achilles tendon.

Negotiations were ultimately successful in settling this claim for £11,000. This included an injury valuation of around £9,000 together with loss of earnings, domestic help, travel and medication costs.

Ward & Rider acted for Mr J on a No Win - No Fee basis.
